How much does a Wild Journey cost?
A rough idea of costs is that a one-day walking journey costs around £50 per person. A multi day journey involving both sailing and walking costs around £100 per person per day. Multi day journey prices include food and all costs whilst you are on course. Prices do not include travel to and from start and finish points of journeys.
Is it safe?
We use highly qualified staff and the very best of equipment. Director, Neil Harvey, comes from an extensive background in the management of safety and risk in the outdoors.
Is it hard?
Wild Journeys are designed to have elements of ‘hard’ throughout but always in a way that matches the needs and abilities of participants. We don’t run boot camps but we do challenge perceptions of limits.
Where do we stay?
On most courses we camp.
What equipment do I need?
We will provide you with a detailed and specific equipment list for each course. You’ll need the basics like waterproofs, walking shoes / boots and a sleeping bag. We supply a lot of the more technical equipment such as tents and stoves.
What is the accommodation like on Birthe Marie?
Limited! When we sail on Birthe Marie we go ashore in the evening and camp. Birthe Marie does have a galley and a toilet but she doesn’t have bunks.
Will I need any technical outdoor skills?
No, that’s not what we are about. There will be opportunities to learn various skills but you need none at all to take part.
Can you cater for specific dietary requirements?
Yes we can. Just lest us know as soon as possible and with as much detail as you can.
