Where do we meet?
Walk on the Wild Side happens on and around Ben A’an in The Trossachs. Drive times to the Ben A’an car park are about one hour from Glasgow, an hour and a half from Edinburgh and 40 minutes from Stirling. Unfortunately getting to Ben A’an by public transport is pretty much impossible.
Most times we can sort our travel by car sharing.
Please be aware that parking at the Ben A’an car park costs about £3 for the day. You’ll need the right change!
What time do we start and what time will we get back?
We ask you to meet us at the car park at 0945 in time for starting at 1000. We aim to return to the car park for around 1730. Obviously this can vary a bit depending on weather / speed of travel etc.
Do I need to bring my own food and drink?
Yes. Bring a packed lunch with you and any snacks that you may want along the way. Also good to remember to bring at least a litre of water in a sturdy water bottle.
What about gear?
We strongly recommend that you have the following with you:
- Waterproof jacket
- Waterproof trousers
- Walking boots (worn in)
- Hat and gloves
- Spare fleece
- Personal medication
- Lunch
- Snacks
- Water
- Suncream
